This gigantic pot of gel serum-moisturiser hybrid is all kinds of wonderful. The Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioning Gel will delight those who want maximum hydration with no grease, who want instant soothing effect as well as a more long-term brightening on the skin. Did I mention that it’s cheap-as-chips? A whopping 180g tub costs less than ¥900! I slather it on my face and body.
Many Japanese beauty products use hyaluronic acid as a key ingredient to replenish skin since it has an amazing ability to attract and hold onto water. So it comes a surprise that the gel does not contain it yet incredibly hydrating. My skin actually looks more plump as well as feeling it. Never too heavy, sticky, or greasy, it can be applied to even the oiliest or driest faces and bodies.
The other thing I love is the soothing, brightening effects. Nothing earth-shattering, but the skin looked inarguably better and more refreshed. I’m putting that down to the Job’s Tears (a.k.a. hatomugi) extract and the vitamin C (as Ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate, an oil-soluble vitamin C), which have anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative properties.
This is a brilliant multi-tasking, one-pot wonder with a gorgeous, lightweight feel and it sits well beneath whatever it is that you want to layer on top. Naturie suggests that this is a pre-moisturiser serum — though I can’t imagine how moisturised my skin would be if I followed this up with another moisturiser. As it is, the Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioning Gel leaves my skin feeling nicely quenched. Its effect lasts for a good twenty-four hours on me — my skin is plumper, dewier, and more bouncy. At just ¥698 for 180g HERE from Amazon Japan (international shipping available via AmazonGlobal), it’s a total winner! You can also find it on Amazon.com for US$13.34+ or eBay HERE for US$11.95+.
