Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioning Gel is a hydrating Japanese beauty serum gel with Job’s tears.
The beauty serum gel features Naturie’s signature Job’s tears (“hatomugi” in Japanese) extract to soothe, freshen, hydrate, and improve skin condition. Its refreshingly lightweight formula forms a “microgel” layer on the skin that deeply replenishes skin’s moisture content and keeps it in without the use of oils and thick emollients.
The gel absorbs quickly without feeling sticky, greasy, or coated. Skin feels fresh, plump, and supple. Ideal for use on the face and body.

Dont you feel any tightness due to “micro gel layer” from description? If this has occlusive function like it claims then Im not worried about hyaluronic acid dehydrating me (which was the case when I finished with aquamoist serum in the past), also the tightness is not followed by oiliness, as a reaction to dehydration in that same situation. Maybe the problem is that Im not using lotion beneath? (kiwamizu rose beneath = oiliness; Im guessing alcohol but still open to other ingredients, perhaps I need to try something like hada labo gokujyun light lotion to be sure)
No, it shouldn’t make skin feel tight whether you’re using it completely alone or layered over/under other products.
So if I understand correctly, tightness doesn’t follow dehydration/not enough moisture?or, in this case, if it does, I can always apply a bigger amount of product so if the problem persists there’s an ingredient in here thats causing me irritation?
I use biore medicated foam and it doesnt actually foam if I rub it between ny hands, perhaps I should buy the foaming pad or what is it called in your review’s picture of the product, I actually begin with tight feeling after cleansing if I wait enough.
do we have to put an occlusive on top of this? or does this already act like one? @[email protected] because i have a hyaluronic acid lotion i’d like to use below this…
Completely depends on your skin and personal preference. You don’t “have” to use an occlusive product over hyaluronic acid.
Hi! Is it possible to use this without a moisturizer after? Or does this act as a moisturizer already?
It really depends on how dry or dehydrated your skin is. If your skin is dry, this most likely wouldn’t be enough on its own.
Oh, didn’t saw this post, I feel like it was posted just for me – sounds perfect 🙂
This is very summer/oily skin-friendly!
Hey, I’m not sure where to ask this, but what is your view on the 100% aloe vera gel? Do you find it dehydrating if used consistently? I would assume for local short-term healing it’s probably not a bad thing, but not sure otherwise..
Thanks!
I’m personally not a fan of the aloe vera gels. I’ve tried countless brands (Japanese, Korean, Western, etc) and they all didn’t do much for me. Slightly refreshing, but that’s about it. I don’t find them to be hydrating or soothing whatsoever. I don’t think there’s any harm in using it regularly if you like it and it’s not giving your skin any issues.
Do you view the “slightly tight skin” feel on forehead (from this Naturie Hatomugi product) as a definite sign that skin needs more hydration/moisturizer (it does go away after ~10-20min)?
It’s kinda similar after I apply Kiwamizu Rose lotion, and I actually thought that’s just an effect of shine control, but this Naturie product is not really specified like that..
If yes, I’m looking forward for an oily friendly moisturizer blog post heh, so much complication for such a small area of skin compared to the rest heh..thank you very much as usually.
Yes. I think skin no longer feels tight after waiting a while as your skin naturally produces sebum.
