Best Pick: Pharmaact Deep Cleansing Oil

Best Pick Pharmaact Deep Cleansing Oil

Cleansing oils and cleansing foams are my product of choice for the evening cleansing routine, and you’ll probably already know that if you’ve been reading RatzillaCosme for a while. I do use wipes and micellar cleansers, but usually occasionally as a quick fix.

One of my cleansing discovery this year in 2014 is Pharmaact Deep Cleansing Oil by Kumano. It’s not new, but it’s new to me. The brand doesn’t advertise or use social media. Next to flashier, more eye-catching bottles, it’s rather forgettable, but despite that, I actually like the packaging; it feels sturdy and — furthermore — it doesn’t come in obnoxiously eye-catching designs with cartoon characters on them. (Almost every popular budget-priced cleansing oils now come in “limited edition” designs that don’t seem to disappear off the shelves. There’re more every time I look — Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, Snoopy, Winnie the Pooh… the list goes on. They’re like baboons of the beauty world — enticing females with their bright, red arses.)

Inside the bottle, there’s clear thick oil — the texture is similar to Shu Uemura’s and DHC’s. I personally prefer oils with a thinner texture, but I get on very well with this. I don’t need very much at all, in fact, I use just one-pump compared to my usual two. The Pharmaact oil smells like apples, and the formula is non-irritating to eyes and non-stripping. It slips nicely across the skin to remove every last trace of long-wearing makeup but rinses completely clean. There’s absolutely no residue or traces of makeup left behind. Surprising considering its price.

The oil is only ¥449 for a 160ml bottle in Japan. Its results rival (and beat) many cleansing oils double, triple, or quadruple its price. There will most definitely be a repurchase!

Hi Ratzilla! I love your informative website. Do you find that Pharmaact Deep Cleansing Oil removes sweat-proof, water-proof summer sunscreens like Biore Milk? I wash my face in the shower and am looking for a really good cleanser (cleansing oil, foam, etc.) that works well to remove Biore Milk sunscreen as well as stubborn long-wearing makeup on wet skin.

I always can’t manage to get this when I am in Japan. I comb the entire drugstores!! Looks like I need to get from Rakuten. I’m heading to Japan again next week. Hope I have better luck.

Hello, do you think this is a good cleansing oil for someone acne prone? I have been using DHC but you are right about the thick texture. I want a light one that does not break out my skin.

I was looking for a new cleansing oil and then I saw your review and bought this one from Rakuten. And I’m delighted! It’s true the texture is thicker than other oils I have tried (Missha and Sulwhasoo) but I like it very much. It’s a great product and it’s so cheap (I bought the jumbo bottle). Thank you!

Have you ever used the cleansing oil called Senka Perfect Oil from Shiseido? If so, how can you compare this one to that one? I broke out from the Perfect Oil because my water can’t seem to wash it all off. I’m using the one from Hadalabo right now and it doesn’t break me out at all.
