As you will know, if you’ve been following RatzillaCosme for a while, I am a big fan of lists. So I figured what better way to introduce the new space than by listing random facts about me to get to know me on a more personal level.
So here we go — a quick list of 20 random facts about me!
1.) I’m a neat freak, everything has its place.
2.) My favourite movie of all time 🍿🎞: 天空の城ラピュタ(Laputa: Castle in the Sky) — I’ve seen it so many times that I can recite the lines.
3.) My dad was a school’s lead of discipline and my mum was a primary school counsellor (at separate schools).
4.) So not surprisingly, I was a school prefect for most of my early schooling days.
5.) To be honest though, I hated school and didn’t actually get excellent grades. It was a mixed bag — a few As, some Bs, some Cs. 🏫
6.) I was born left-handed. Apparently, my mum forced me to use my right hand as soon as my hand preference became clear. I’m now ambidextrous.
7.) I have an abnormally sensitive nose. My friends always joke that I was a drug-sniffing dog in my past life since I have an uncanny ability to sniff out weed (and food that is very close to going bad).👃🏻
8.) I rarely watch YouTube videos. I know there’re fantastic content there that fits everyone’s taste and interest — I just frankly don’t care enough to spend my spare time discovering them. 🤷🏻♀️
9.) Tested.com videos (from Adam Savage, a host of MythBuster) is the only one I regularly watch.
10.) I always crochet amigurumi when I’m watching something on Netflix or TV — it feels so mindless (and time-wasting) to be just staring at the screen. You can see some of the stuff that I’ve made on my Instagram! (Yes, you can expect to see some related posts in the future.)
11.) I really don’t like candy bars — I find them sickly sweet — but I adore gummies. 🍬
12.) I don’t own a single pair of high heels or pumps. 👠
13.) I have a Hello Kitty toaster and Hello Kitty house slippers. I hide them when people come over.
14.) My site’s 10th year anniversary is next year, so I’m been doing this for a long while, yet my parents are still completely confused at what it’s all about no matter how many times I’ve explained it to them. I’ve stopped trying a few years ago — recently I overheard my mum telling her sister on the phone about my “cosmetic store”. (I didn’t bother correcting her.) 🤨
15.) I hate horror and romance movies.🙅🏻♀️
16.) I’ve never seen Harry Potter (or read the books) nor Star Wars. I know their basic plots and I have seen clips, but I have never sat through an entire movie. They’re just so many of them and each are so bloody long! 😑
17.) I’m an only child. My birthday wish every year when I was young was to have a sibling since I desperately wanted someone to play with — that obviously didn’t come true, but I also didn’t tell anyone.
18.) Up until I was 10 or 11, I had a gap between my front teeth.
19.) I absolutely adore noodles and pastas — I eat them 5–6x a week.🍝🍜
20.) I’m perfectly bilingual in English 🏴 & Japanese 🇯🇵 since I was a kid.

What do you do for a living?
I’m a trend forecaster specialising in beauty FMCG/fashion and I also do some consulting work with individual brands.
No high heels, not even for special events? Is that to avoid foot pain, or simply an aesthetic preference?
I have a few pair of booties and boots with a bit of heel that I’ve worn only a handful of times. Those are it though. My personal style isn’t girly at all and I’m happy with my height so heels aren’t something I look at when I shop.
Did your tooth gap disappear when you lost your baby teeth or did you have orthodontic work done?
I’ve never had braces. The gap closed when the all the other teeth came through.
