Baby Yoda Amigurumi

You know what? I’ve never seen any of the Star Wars movies or The Mandalorian, the popular series on Disney+. I don’t know really the basic story (honestly, I couldn’t care less) and I have no idea how an ancient green hairless troll fits in the whole storyline. That doesn’t matter. I kept seeing Baby Yoda everywhere last year and I found him so cute that I couldn’t resist crocheting my own version.

This was an extensive project. He stands about 39cm (15”) tall and his arms and legs are wired. I’m quite pleased with how he turned out. His facial features are all crocheted directly without any needle-sculpting.

Work in progress (from December 2020)

His big brown eyes are actually taxidermy eyes from Etsy. They were about US$20 with shipping for just a pair but worth every penny! To give you a reference, you can buy a pack of 50 regular safety eyes for just a few dollars.

Everything is done freehand so no pattern. I have written notes for my own personal reference but for now, I will not be posting them publicly. His cloak is completely removable. Yarn is just cheap worsted-weight (medium thick) acrylic yarn. I hope you all like him!

Congrats! This looks like it took a lot of time & dedication. I too am a baby Yoda fan, even though I don’t particularly care for the Star Wars franchise.
