Here is the skincare routine I’ve been following for the past couple of months. I have to say that it has kept my face looking spectacularly smooth, fresh, and bouncy, considering the stress levels.
In a nutshell, my current skincare routine is something like this:
Morning version 1 : Cleanse + Prep + Serum + Moisturise + Eye Cream (occasional) + UV
Morning version 2 : Cleanse + Prep + Moisturise + Eye Cream (occasional) + UV
Night version 1: Cleanse + Prep + Serum + Moisturise
Night version 2: Cleanse + Prep + Retin-A gel + Moisturise
My morning routine completely depends on how much time I have to spare. I skip the serum and just use an all-in-one moisturising gel or an antioxidative moisturiser if I need to get ready quickly. Sometimes I’ll use an eye cream if I feel my undereye area could use an extra boost.
My evening routine alternates between two versions, neither of them lengthy. It’s pretty much the same routine that I’ve been doing for the past couple of years. The only difference here is the products. I occasionally use the PlaceWhiter Medicated Whitening Eye Cream (blue tube) by Meishoku as a face cream as well.
I’ve put everything shown in a list below. So here it is.

Does the Biore sunscreen have any white cast, particularly on dark skin?
It’s completely invisible on me but my skin is light. The product does claim to suit all skin tones though.
Intrigued by the Washable Cold Cream. Does it function similarly to cleansing balms? Would love your thoughts on it!
Sort of. It transforms into a silky oil as you gently massage it on then it rinses away clean with water. There will be a review on it coming up. I prefer it over most cleansing balms.
Hi! Do you apply a different sunscreen on the eye area? For example like Biore and almost all brands say “avoid eye area”. I find it confusing, I have to skip the most delicate part of the face which needs the most protection? It kind of frustrates me, I used to have a separate product for my eye area and after a while it stings my eyes but Biore doesn’t. So now I just use Biore on my entire face and neck anyway.
I haven’t encountered a Japanese sunscreen that says avoid the eye area. Biore Japan doesn’t say that either. What they actually say is to take caution not to get product in the eyes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately.
Must be wrong translation then. Thanks for clearing this up!
Hey there! Are there any Japanese or any asian sunscreens that have spf higher than 50? I’ve been doing my research on the Internet, but no luck.
Thank you!
The maximum permissible labeled SPF value is “50+” in Japan. Any SPF test value higher than 50 has a “+” sign next to it as in SPF50+.
