DETAILS

ALLIE Extra UV Gel is a friction-proof Japanese sunscreen gel. It replaces ALLIE Extra UV Gel (Mineral Moist NEO) that was released in 2013.

The sunscreen gel features Kanebo’s new “Friction-Proof” technology that creates a durable, flexible veil that adheres to the skin’s natural contours even when it comes in contact water, perspiration, or friction from day-to-day activities. A blend of hyaluronic acid and collagen helps protect the skin from dryness. Its signature ADVAN UV-Barrier technology gives the gel the same light and refreshing texture as before.

It provides powerful sun protection while leaving the skin feeling replenished and comfortable. Ideal for outdoor activities and normal everyday wear.

  • For face and body.
  • Resistant to water and sweat (80 minutes).
  • Removable with a face or body wash.

This is by far the best sunscreen l have ever used. Will it be replaced with something different or will l have to start a new search from a different company to find a new sunscreen to take its place?

Hi, how many times do you re-apply in a day for this type of sunscreen?

I wouldn’t use this on the face because of the triethylhexanoin and its refatting properties since I’m acne prone, but it might be a nice, probably non-sticky, waterproof sunscreen for the body – If the price was half.
So, still looking for a waterproof body sunscreen with a dry touch that doesn’t cost $40 for 200ml.
The SUNCUT Ultra UV Perfect Protect Gel (Super Waterproof) you recently listed costs 70% less, so this might be an option soon.

Exciting to have Ratzilla as a resource for reading ingredients and staying updated. Thank you!

Why do most Japanese consumer use this on the body instead of the face? Is it because of the ingredients or the consistency? I live in Alabama and need a cosmetically elegant sunscreen that can protect me from farmer’s tan. I would love to just use one product from head to toe.

I found out this past weekend that skin aqua uv super moisturizing gel is not going to withstand 5 to 10 minutes of me walking outside. The tanning was minimal, but it still happened.

Thanks for explaining that to me. That makes total sense. I have noticed that Westerners use Japanese “body”sunscreens for the face because the texture is so much better. Plus, the prices are pretty affordable.

What would be some higher end Japanese brand sunscreens geared towards the face? I never hear anyone mention anything considered higher end except for Allie and Anessa.

Well, that is definitely an eye opener. Yeah, we Westerners cringe at the thought of spending money on body sunscreens, but don’t mind investing in the face. I guess I would have never looked into the facial items you mentioned (on my own) because most dermatologist in the US suggest that any product that is not strictly/predominately a sunscreen should not be exclusively used on the face. We have only a few sunscreens with added benefits like the ones you listed. We mainly have cosmetic products with added yet not adequate sunscreen. Sadly, I probably can’t wear any of those… Read more »

Here is something else you might find interesting. Im using the services of curology for tretinoin. It is an online dermatology service that caters to the face and neck areas only. They list Biore Aqua Rich Watery Essence (they show picture of now discontinued version) along with Elta MD UV Clear and Cetaphil Pro Oil Absorbing Moisturizer SPF 30 as suggested sunscreens to use on the face. They probably suggested the Biore due to its affordability and texture.

As I read from the Amazon JP website, the reviewers mainly wrote that they use this product for their faces

In Japan this is actually a mid-end product and they do say that there is a difference between this and cheaper sunscreen….

I love japanesse sunscreens a whole lot better than european ones but what gives you better sun protection for outdoor activities to prevent sun burn and tanning a european one that advertises a high ppd rating of 30+ or a japanese sunscreen with pa ++++ ppd of 16 + that is advertised for outdoor s.
