Worst Pick: NeoStrata SecureWhite Brightening Serum

Worst Pick NeoStrata SecureWhite Brightening Serum

Right. I wrote this “review” as a note to self early this year and I thought that I’d publish it. I’ve said this before — I tend to abandon products that don’t agree with me very quickly. Depending on how crap they are, they either go straight in the trash bin or get passed onto someone else. NeoStrata SecureWhite Brightening Serum falls in the former category.

3 words to describe this serum. (Highly) fragranced. Weightless. Useless. I’ve managed to use my sample (kindly received from NeoStrata) twice a day for about a month before abandoning it for good. Its sweet, floral scent is nauseating. I know that fragrance is a very personal thing, but bloody hell it’s powerful!

The blurb says this: “a highly powerful solution to rapidly correct the appearance of dark spots and acne marks, unify an uneven skin tone, and brighten dull skin. Up to -52% reduction in the appearance of dark spot in 2 weeks. Up to +42% improvement in overall look of skin brightness.” I’ve used it morning and night daily for just over a month, and it has made no difference whatsoever — even in the very short-term. It offered no moisture, in fact, my skin always felt a little taut and looked devoid of luminosity afterwards. You would fare far better to use it as a lightweight mattifier than a brightening serum.

The NeoStrata SecureWhite Brightening Serum is Canada-exclusive and a 30ml bottle retails for CAD$49. I feel this is a horrendous waste of time and money. At that price-point, there’re much better options (some examples below)!
