Quasi-Drug (医薬部外品) Melano CC Anti-Spot White Lotion is a Japanese watery lotion that treats and prevents dark spots.
The medicated toner features a hydrating formula with stable vitamin C derivative that penetrates deep to effectively fade and prevent dark spots and acne marks by inhibiting melanin production. Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate and Alpinia White reduce redness and irritation while correcting uneven skin tone.
It penetrates deep into the inner skin’s layers to counteract dark spots.

This seems to contain the most powerful C vitamin derivatives for brightening as far as I managed to read in such short-amount of time, I can only assume the manufacturer used an appropriate formulation to keep it stable heh.
Ethyl Ascorbic acid itself is very stable.
Hah interesting, quite opposite of what I read for EAC and similar for AA which is also in this product – http://thebeautybrains.com/2014/05/which-kind-of-vitamin-c-is-best-for-skin-the-beauty-brains-show-episode-31/ – (there’s a list on bottom) I’ve got no idea on credibility of these guys and it might also be outdated info, anyway good news as I already ordered it lol, thank you!
Not sure what where they’re getting their info from as they’re plenty of published data on 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid (or Ethyl Ascorbic Acid). Not sure why they’re calling it “3-O-Ethyl Ascorbate” either. As far as I know, that’s not the chemical or INCI name… maybe that’s why they couldn’t find data on it. Here’s some detailed info on it http://www.cosmeticsandtoiletries.com/formulating/function/active/premium-3-O-Ethyl-Ascorbic-Acid-A-Stable-Vitamin-C-Derived-Agent-for-Skin-Whitening-225540872.html
Swell link! May I ask if you take any supplements, besides perhaps collagen (of which I saw you tweeted a study not a long time ago)?
I used to take astaxanthin for a while during summer a year or two ago juts for the “accidental exposure”, not saying it was smart to use it as alternative to/skip daily sunscreen, but I did notice it made a difference as opposed to not doing anything in that regard. Will try to read more about it on that site. Thanks!
I think it’s working, but I’ll have to wait another week to be 100% sure, I also find the smell one of the best ever, Oxy’s is also great..I noticed you always comment on the product’s scent so I went searching on C&T and somehow stumbled on this article (http://www.fragrancesoftheworld.com/downloads/3_Fragrance_Perception_Laura_Donna_Is_Everything_Relative.pdf) – do you orient yourself by this fragrance “wheel” or do you use something else? Or like most people you just test as many perfumes as you can through their 3 notes?
Thanks!
Thanks for the interesting article! I’ve never given much thought on fragrance to be honest. For site’s product info listings, I simple go by what the manufacturer is calling it. Personally, I don’t like the smell of lavender and I find the fragrance used in many French skincare brands (Vichy, La Roche-Posay, Avene, Garnier) to be very off-putting.
Me neither – I’ve never even bought one lol, I (did) own a couple of them and use only 2 but one is more for cold weather and personally I don’t think it’s for everyday wear and the other one is not bad but nothing exciting either + it’s nearly finished.
I like her male guide, not sure if this will help as I have no idea if these are available in Japan but yeah I’ll leave it just in case – http://www.basenotes.net/features/3322-the-top-ten-female-designer-fragrances-every-beginner-should-sample
Does anybody know the percentage of vitamin C (or any of its derivatives) in this lotion?
This info is not disclosed by the company.
