DETAILS

Kiku-Masamune Sake Brewing Skin Care Lotion High Moist is an ultra-hydrating Japanese watery lotion with sake.

The hydrating toner contains the same concentration of Kiku-Masamune’s famed dry sake (Japanese rice liquor) as the regular version to naturally hydrate, soothe, and smooth the skin. It features a rich, slightly acidic formula with a blend of ceramides, amino acids, arbutin, and placenta extract to naturally protect the skin barrier against moisture loss.

Skin is replenished and plumped with moisture. Its big size makes it economical for use on the face and body, and as a 5-minute lotion pack.

Hello, what is the shelf life for an unopened Kikumasume high moist lotion? Also, what’s the shelf life once I opened it? 🙂

What’s your opinion about added fragrance to skincare products? Do you think it’s safer to avoid it? I’m interested in this product but I have read fragrance can be bad…

Hi – Does this contain mineral oil? On Japan’s Amazon site, mineral oil is listed as an ingredient. But castor oil is listed as an ingredient on your site, and US Amazon’s site. Thanks so much advance for your help.

Do you possibly know if the moisturizer (of the same version) contains any oil ingredients? The old version has mineral oil but I read somewhere that the molecules of it are too big to be absorbed by skin so they stay on the surface – don’t know if that’s a fact but my body responds well to it, on the other side any non-mineral oils make my very oily skin too oily and that leads to trouble..

Thank you and kind regards.

I’m sorry for not being clear. I’m saying I rather not have any oils, but mineral oil was not bad either. The 2015 Kiku-Masamune’s LOTION contains castor oil (that’s vegetable oil), that’s why I had to discontinue using it. So I’m asking if they added non-mineral oil (like castor oil) to emulsion aswell.

(the vendor sent me 2015 emulsion even though the pictured one was the 2013, so now I’m kinda sceptical using it..)

Sorry again, thank you very much and kind regards.

I see I already commented on the product thinking that I’m commenting on 2013 formula – not sure how did I mixed that, sorry.
Thank you.

Hm, after a very decent amount of time using lotion + moisturizer + yuskina for body skin hydration I still had dry skin (on calf area even slightly flaking), a week ago I started using a very small amount of coconut oil (I’m not into alternative stuff, but it actually has a few decent studies that showed it acts as mineral oil when applied topically to the skin) as a finisher..and a few days later a very big bumbp in hydration noted (flaky calf area is now soft and smooth etc.). Not sure if it’s really that powerful on it’s… Read more »

Good to hear that. Yes I actually experimented with it as after-shave and it clogged pores a lot, not sure about the neck area though. By the way isn’t mineral oil in general comedogenic? Otherwise I might be interested in an economical lotion that contains mineral oil as my current (Kikumasamune) is okay but it goes quite fast if used on whole body and also I’m kinda experiencing your point that lotions are usually not “much more” than regular water and with that in mind Rose lotion would be a better option as it’s really almost like water and thus… Read more »

Thank you for posting this! Reading your website helps me discover so many interesting products. This looks nice and economical. I read that sake products are popular in Japan for skincare. Have you tried it or any of the other sake type products?
By the way, I don’t know if it’s just my computer, but I can’t seem to click into your “alcohol-free” filter list. It’s giving me a blank webpage.
