I’ve been trying to avoid pink for most of my adult life and I’m not keen on rose fragrance but for some inexplicable reason, I was drawn to the rose-scented, millennial pink mist like a greedy, non-feathered magpie. I didn’t even realise that it was sunscreen until after I doused myself with it and took another look at the label. It started on a purely superficial level, but after trying JMsolution’s Glow Luminous Flower Sun Spray, I was even more pleased.
UV sprays are absolutely brilliant for topping up your protection “on the go”, and goodness me, this is so lovely! It can be used on the face and body without disturbing what “lies beneath”. Simply spritz on this ultra-fine mist and you’re good to go. There’s absolutely no telltale sheen, shimmery “glow”, or stickiness no matter how liberally you’ve sprayed. If it wasn’t for the rose fragrance it leaves behind on the skin, I never would have known I’ve even applied anything. For this reason, I personally wouldn’t use it as my main sunscreen. It applies so finely and lightly that it’s absolutely impossible to tell how much you’ve applied (and where, unless you sniff your skin); but as a quick top-up and for re-application it’s just perfect!
This works brilliantly over makeup (it says it can even be used as a setting spray), but I can’t wholeheartedly advocate using it that way on a regular basis for health reasons. You need to take precautionary measures not to inhale it, but it’s harder than you might think. The mist is so fine and light that if you’re not careful, you’ll quickly find yourself completely enveloped in an invisible cloud of microfine mist — no more or less than hairsprays, really.
