Daiso is one of Japan’s most well-known and largest 100-yen store chains with more than 3,000 locations worldwide. While it has a sizable cosmetics section, I — like most Japanese — wouldn’t use majority of their beauty products as nearly all are made in China (or Vietnam). But it has some little gems, and this is of them.
Daiso Puff & Sponge Detergent is Japan-made and it works just like a cleansing oil — work the thick liquid into dry puff or sponge then rinse thoroughly — and it is good as new. It removes all traces of makeup, including waterproof and long-wearing foundations, effortlessly on contact. The detergent is completely scent-free — no fragrance, no chemical odour, and it doesn’t irritate hands.
As picture is worth a thousand words, here is a before and after:
It is sold exclusively in Daiso, and it retails for 105 yen (with tax) in Japan. A list of overseas locations can be found on its English website. If you have no Daiso near you, the Puff & Sponge Detergent is also available on eBay for US$3.75+ HERE.
