Vichy has given a full-sized tube of Bi-White Med Deep Corrective Whitening Essence (and also ProEVEN Daily Dark Spot Corrector) and asked me to test it for a few weeks to see what it can do. I think that it’s rather brave from a PR point of view to invite me to test a new product for so long in this way, so I’m gamely joining in.
According to Vichy, both products are identical — just marketed as Bi-White Med in Asia and ProEVEN in North America — in reality, their ingredients actually slightly differ. I don’t think the variance will make much difference unless — of course, your skin is particularly sensitive to certain ingredients.
I don’t actually have brown spots so I shall be testing this on my Mum — who is in her 60s — at the same time. However, I’m extremely interested to see how well this brightens and evens skin tone compared to Japanese whitening serum as in addition to vitamin C derivative — almost a default active in Japanese whitening serums — Bi-White Med and ProEVEN also feature LHA and Vichy’s Ceramide White™ (patented ceramide). I think it would be great if this did something towards reducing brown spots or really visibly improving overall skin tone and luminosity. This could potentially be a great alternative for those without easy access to Japanese whitening products, or if you simply prefer avoiding skin-bleachers.
I’m going to be testing the serum on the entire face (except for the eye area). I’m not going to be using any other whitening/brightening product so that the review is as fair as possible. I’m not being paid by Vichy to do this, so as usual I have no incentive to sway my opinion in any way, so keep a look out for the results. I’ll be posting an update in about a month.
Bi-White Med Deep Corrective Whitening Essence is said to be 10X more concentrated than Bi-White Reveal Double Corrective Whitening Essence. It will be launched in Asia on February 22, 2012.
