Looks can be deceiving. I was quite surprised when I went to my first few shoots that every makeup artist seemed to rely on Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré on a very regular basis. Its packaging and ingredients didn’t look anything special — utterly boring and unremarkable to be honest — yet they all raved about it! Years later, it has become one of my most-used beauty products. When I — or any of my friends, parents, relatives — visit Paris, I always stock up on this, which is one of the best and most versatile moisturisers I have found.
Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré is a rich cream for all skin types that promises to moisturise and nourish the skin and make it look smooth, supple, and soft. It leaves skin glowing and healthy looking yet without any greasy residue, despite its richness. In fact, it creates the perfect skin surface for makeup application. I apply it straight, all over or on dry areas only, or mixed a small dab with Japanese lotion for a lighter, fresher texture.
It works marvelously as a gentle makeup remover. While I rarely use it for this purpose, taking makeup off sans water (as I normally use cleansing oils which require rinsing) from sensitive, tired areas like the eyes becomes much less harsh than a liquid or a wipe.
It is most definitely non-irritating, in fact, it’s one of the very few products that I can always count on to soothe and revive dry, sensitive, tired skin.
I personally recommend choosing moisturisers with no bells and whistles to avoid conflicting ingredients when layering other products.
